IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Dental services require a screening before being offered an appointment
Screening can be done at either Caroline St. Clinic or Cathedral Clinic (see Healthcare tab above). Screening includes: negative TB test, stable blood pressure, stable blood sugar. Once you pass the screening, you will receive a letter and the staff will help make your appointment. Appointment will be at Caroline St. Dental Clinic 3rd floor.
Dental services only available if you DO NOT have a gold card. If you DO have a Harris Health Gold Card, then you must seek care within the Harris Health system instead.

The Respite, Rehabilitation, and Re-Entry Center
Description: The center provides proper housing and houses services and programs to address the psychological, emotional, occupational, interpersonal, health and other effects of the homeless population.
Hospital to Home: 24 beds available to provide rehabilitation services to people who are homeless and have a serious mental illness. These individuals will receive comprehensive rehabilitation services intended to help them successfully transition to more permanent housing options. Estimated stays of 90-180 days.
Mental Health Apartment Unit: 26 units on-site with a diversion, rehabilitation, and re-entry rent for people with serious mental illness.

The Way Home - Income now
An initiative of The Way Home CoC that connects all people in our homeless system who want to be employed or who are under employed receiving homeless services to Workforce Solutions, the public workforce system in the Greater Houston Area through an Income Now Referral. Workforce Solutions Career Offices provide direct, individualized services that help individuals currently experiencing homelessness or are in our homeless programs prepare for, secure, and maintain mainstream competitive employment.

Beacon Day Center

Breakfast and hot lunches served Thursday - Monday. Enter through the Day Center entrance on Caroline Street. Intake: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.. Serving 150 people per day and provides laundry, shower services and rest rooms all day. They also provide legal services, housing assistant, bus fare to appointments and referrals to Brigids hope, which is a program for women 35 and older who are formerly homeless or incarcerated that aims to reduce the number of women returning to the criminal justice system by providing resources that empower participants to lead safe and productive lives and thereby continuing the program's success rate of less than 10% recidivism.

Additionally they provide long term needs of youth by providing a safe space to exist, affirming supportive adults, and long-term, stable relationships.

Emergency Aid Coalition

Our Clothing Center provides clothing for men, women and children. Each individual and family member is eligible for up to 2 outfits, shoes (when available), toiletries and underwear. Our clothing options are limited, and sometimes we may not have certain items like men’s shoes or belts.
